A comprehensive eye exam includes digital retinal imaging technology to fully examine the back of the eyes, often without the need for dilating drops.
Retinal imaging uses a camera or other device to take pictures of the back of your eye, which includes the retina. The retina senses light and sends images to your brain.
A retinal imaging test can help your doctor find and treat eye problems such as diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration and retinal detachment etc. A retinal image may also help your doctor see if a disease is getting worse and whether treatment is working.
